Příčiny
- By exposure to the mother's hormones [1]
- Stimulation of sebaceous glands by maternal or infant androgens [2]
Symptomy
- Red bumps, sometimes with white dots in the center
- May be seen on a newborn's face
- Acne usually occurs between 2 and 4 weeks of age, but may appear up to 4 months after birth and can last for 12 - 18 months

- Acne neonatorum usually resolves within four months without scarring. [3]
Terapie
- žádná
- Normal washing is usually all that is necessary [1]
- Use plain water or mild baby soap [1]
- Bathe your baby every 2-3 days [1]
- Avoid acne medicines used by adolescents and adults [1]
- U silnějších projevů (if lesions are extensive and persist for several months):
- Topical tretinoin [2]
- Topical 2.5% benzoyl peroxide lotion [2, 3]
- Topical and oral erythromycin [2]
- Vážné formy - (recalcitrant infantile cystic acne)
- Oral isotretinoin (Accutane) [2]
- The dose used ranged from 0.2 mg/kg/day to 1.5 mg/kg/day [2]
- Treatment duration varied from 5 to 14 months [2]
- Careful monthly monitoring is recommended [2]
- Severe, unrelenting neonatal acne accompanied by other signs of hyperan-drogenism should prompt an investigation for:
- Adrenal cortical hyperplasia
- Virilizing tumors
- Underlying endocrinopathies [3]
