Mandibular melasma

• Exclusively mandibular melasma is rare
• May represent a type of poikiloderma of Civatte
• Patients are often postmenopausal women
• Development after extensive sun exposure
• Biopsies reveals significant actinic damage [4]
• Mandibular lesions were associated with parotid lesions
• Possibility of a classification into two types of melasma:
• Centrofacial and peripheral [4]
